StigmaFree On Campus

Everyday NAMI fights misconceptions and stereotypes about mental health conditions. Stigmafree is our movement to end the stigma associated with mental illness.

The age of many college students is a crucial time when it comes to mental health. Most people who live with mental illness are diagnosed by the time they turn 24, over half of all students living with mental illness will drop out of school and suicide is the second-leading cause of death for college students.

As part of our StigmaFree campaign, we are trying to encourage college campuses around the country to help us build our movement and change lives for the better.

Join Us In Creating A StigmaFree Campus!

The first step is understanding what is stigma and encouraging others to being informed. Text "NO STIGMA" to 7070 and take the pledge.

The StigmaFree pledge is a commitment to:

  • Be educated on mental illness

  • See the person, not the illness

  • To take action against stigma

Together we can stop stigma from being a barrier against people seeking help and speaking out. With your help, we can end stigma and make the world a better place.
