What is a DIY Event?

"Do It Yourself" (DIY) events are intended for you to show support on helping bring awareness to the community about individuals and families affected by mental health conditions.

You are welcome to create an event that fits your personality, community and capacity. When promoting or speaking about your event, you may title it:

"[Event], benefiting NAMI San Antonio (National Alliance on Mental Illness)."

Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Yes. Funds donated to NAMI San Antonio are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law because we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Will NAMI Help Publicize My Event?

NAMI is unable to publicize DIY events, but we do provide support, graphics and resources to help promote your event in your own way.

What Information Should I Include About NAMI?

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. Today, we are an association of more than 600 national affiliates who work in their communities to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.
