NAMI Basics is a free, six (6) week education program for parents and/or family caregivers of children and teens (through 22 years old) who are experiencing symptoms of a mental illness or whom have already been diagnosed. In the NAMI Basics program you’ll learn the facts about mental health conditions and how best to support your child at home, at school and when they’re getting medical care.

The goal of the NAMI Basics program is to:
-
Give the parents/caregivers basic information necessary to take the best care possible of their child;
-
Help the parents/caregivers cope with the impact mental illness has on the entire family, including themselves; and
-
Provide tools for the parents/caregivers to use after completing the program helping make the best decisions possible for the care of their child.
